Simon - Assistant Coach

Reason for starting Blaze
I began training Kickboxing a couple of years before I joined Blaze, but after suffering an injury I had to take some time out to recover. Once I was able to train again I started looking for a School closer to home, I heard about Blaze through one of the Instructors I knew outside of the school. He said I should come down for an evening and give it a try.
After one evenings training I knew I had found my new school and I signed up straight away. I have been training with Blaze for over a year now, and I have learnt a lot in that time.
The School has a very good approach to teaching all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced Black Belt.

My goals and objectives
My main goal is to achieve my Black Belt, and train as often as I can in order to maintain a healthy body and lifestyle.
I would also like to compete in the different types of Kickboxing competitions, either Semi or Professional.
As well as training hard and working my way through the gradings, I want to pass on any knowledge I can that I have learnt whilst training with Blaze.

Why I became a coach
I became a coach when I was asked to help out at the new School in Bracknell. I was asked if I would like to coach and I jumped at the opportunity. I found that by demonstrating and explaining things to younger and beginner students it has helped me to understand the techniques better myself. I hope to continue to grow as a fighter as well as help educate as many students as I can.
