Reason for starting Blaze
I have had an interest in the martial arts since I was young, which was mainly spurred on from the films (particularly Bruce Lee), and this had always left me with a desire to start training. I hoped I would be able to develop the techniques, the fitness, self-defence and discipline that are all associated with the training.
When searching for clubs in the area I came across the website for Blaze and found it contained all the answers to my questions. I dropped Justyn an email, popped down the following week, and haven't looked back since!
My goals and objectives
In the short term I focus on my upcoming grading, which means I have to work hard to improve my fitness and flexibility, and drill the specific techniques not only at training but in my own time as well. It’s always important to never neglect the techniques from the earlier gradings.
In the long term I am striving towards my 2nd Dan black belt. This will be an awesome personal achievement for me if I pass it. In keeping up my training I am also able to improve my health, motivation and physical fitness for future life.
Why I became a coach
I feel that it's good to share the knowledge you have with those that are willing to learn. I fully appreciate the many skills that I have developed from people with more experience than myself, and when coaching, it is rewarding to see people at training progress from the advice, support and encouragement that you give them.
