Kids Stuff

Our children's classes form a huge part of the Blaze Martial Arts programme and as such are divided into two key stages, Little Ninjas - 5, 6 and 7 years old and Juniors - 8 - 12 years old.

All our classes are high energy, fulfilling and most improtantly FUN, which is why we believe they are so popular.

It is our belief that 5 year olds cannot be taught in the same manner as a 12 year old and it is for that reason that are kids classes are divided accordingly.

All our childrens classes are taught by chief instructor, Justyn Billingham who is NVQ certified and CRB checked and there are always a good number of coaches and assistant instructors helping out to ensure proper supervision at all times.

As a father of two himself, Justyn understands EXACTLY how important our children are to us and our training principles in these classes always keep this important fact in mind.

Classes are based on the principle teaching methods of the award winnning 'Little Ninja' programme which focuses on improving a child's basic motor and listening skills. These are the key skills that will help them enter society with a more confident and enthusiastic outlook. They will become better students at school, better listeners at home and have a more ambitious outlook towards the future.

Our program will enhance positive development in a fun and motivating way.

The curriculum consists of developing 8 Major Skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity.

The curriculum also contains 8 Personal Development Skills that are used to reinforce family values and give them the focus and motivation to achieve any goal they set in life.

The 8 skill requirements are composed of physical and mental benefits.

The following are the skills with the benefits from participating in the class:

Focus - Teamwork - Control - Balance - Memory - Discipline - Fitness - Co-ordination.

Focus This skill will help aim, listening skills and reaction skills. Pupils will excel faster in any physical activities and become a better listener and more focused at school.

Teamwork Teamwork is necessary for any child to develop. The more confidently a child is willing to work with others, the more they will accomplish. Pupils will develop character, which will help them to make new friends and become a better leader in life.

Control Having control means making good decisions. Whether a child is handling a pet or handling a problem, they will learn to make the right decisions. Control builds confidence.

Balance This skill is crucial to develop at any age. Pupils are already beginning to participate in many physical activities that are challenging. This part of the programme will develop good balance and a better posture.

Memory Developing a good memory is exercise for a child's brain. The sooner a child exercises, the smarter they will become. Our drills will constantly help pupils think and make smart decisions.

Discipline We will use the drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding. Pupils will take pride in doing the right thing and will also follow directions better.

Fitness It is important for children to understand the importance of being healthy and physically fit. If a child does not burn off excess energy exercising, how will they burn off that extra energy?

Co-ordination
A child will learn left from right. They will become better physical participants in sports and activities. The better co-ordination a child has, the fewer injuries they will sustain.

We also encourage our junior students to live by 'The Principles of Black Belt Excellence'. As the Black Belt grade is considered to be the best there is in Martial Arts, our focus throughout our junior syllabus is Black Belt Excellence.

By doing so, we instil in our junior members the importance of acting like Black Belts every single day, so they will learn to be the best they can in everything they do.
